Wilder Ways

Thousands of hearts broke yesterday as the new of Gene Wilder's death was released. At the age of 83 years this talented, funny and thoughtful man left a huge mark on many of our lives.

His role as Willy Wonka is etched into our memories and mixed up with our childhood. You can't think about being a kid without thinking about how much you loved this wacky, sweet, slightly firghtening man.

Our hearts go out to his family, his lovely and sweet wife Karen and to all those who loved him.... For years of laughter and a lasting catalog of movies that will make you laugh from deep down inside. If you haven't seen more of his films, please take the time to watch his work like... Stir Crazy, Young Frankenstein, The Producers, The Woman In Red, See No Evil, Hear No Evil and so many more.

If you are moved to give a tribute, consider Gilda's Club as a place for your donations. A group that provides, education, support and community for cancer patients and their loved ones. Gene helped to start this foundation after the death of his wife comedian (and legend in her own right) Gilda Radner passed from Ovarian Cancer.

Not only did he help start this amazing non-profit that helps thousands of people a year, he helped to lead cancer research for ovarian cancer to earlier diagnosis by being open and sharing Gild'a story and speaking before congress to encourage more cancer testing.

Thank you Gene for sharing your talent and compassion with this planet while you were here. We hope you Gila and Richard re all laughing it up together in the Milky Way somewhere.
