The best and the boring from the Met Gala 2015
Dear Anna, Vouge and whom else it may concern in charge of The Metropolitan Museum of Arts costume gala,
Before we wax poetic about the Yays and Nays of your Annual Met Gala we would just like to say if you are bold enough to put Kim K on the cover as an Icon then be maybe you could be bold enough to implement a dress code? So, the ball always has a theme and follow it or not we still think your attendees should at least have to "Vogue" it up if you know what we mean... boring mini dresses and wearing Golden Globes-ish gowns to the MetGala is just not appropriate. In fact it is just as appropriate as wearing a hawaiian shirt and flip flops to a black tie wedding. They just don't go together.
THIS IS THE VOGUE MET BALL PEOPLE! IN THE WORDS OF RU PAUL..."YOU BETTER WORK!"
Ok sorry...here are our Yays! and Nays :( from the MetGala 2015 China Looking Glass-
Of course we have to mention Beyonce first (we will not call her Queen B people...just not gonna happen) SHUT IT DOWN in this insanely naked yet totally stunning and bedazzled Givenchy...dare we say For Love and Lemons-esque gown. Love her for this and her I dream of Genie hair.
Diane, our dream girl killing it in Chanel Haute Couture. Yes its simple but its sooo much more.
Rosie! Ugh... yes you are a Uber Model but you are also an insanely fantastic fashion icon. Her street fashion sense is as amazing as her red carpet. Rosie in Atelier Versace is giving everyone there a run for their money
Love it or hate it THIS is how you do a MetGala red carpet. Thank you Solange for wearing your Giles and showing the timid how its done.
Ladies and Gents...take note...Here is Kate Hudson slaying the competition in her crazy body wearing a theme appropriate yet absolutely stunning Michael Kors "Chinoiserie" dress.
If thats what 2 kids does to your body, Ill have 10! Oh wait I have kids and that is NOT what I look like (she types as she eats ice cream)
Poppy in poppies...we are soon happy about this. Stunning red organza poppy dress by the goddesses at Marchesa.
Ahhh to be young and have a f'n blast! Zendaya is slaying the theme and the vibe of the MetGala in a Faust Puglisi.
Ok who is Courtney Eaton and how can we be her??? LOVE THIS LOOK by Dolce & Gabbana! We may not love the designers of your dress but we love you in it!
We did NOT see this one coming. Bravo Lizzie Caplan in your Atelier Donna Karan....bravo.
And Dame Helen...when we grow up we want to be like you (and Diane Keaton and Iris Appel) You're rad.
Not sure what your story is Julie Macklowe but we like your spirit!
And here come the NAYS
Hey Sienna? This years theme was China Looking Glass...not the Running of the Bulls. We still have a crush on you but this Thakoon is not your best.
Now Karolina Kurkova...yes you did the theme! And your body is to die for but maybe this is just too costume-y? Are we just being nit-picky now? Sorry but it looks like it came out of the Fredericks of Hollywood Halloween catalog
See comment above
Kerry! FIRE YOUR STYIST... asap.
Anne...see comment above
Dakota! this is your moment! What are you doing?! See both comments above! Just because its Chanel doesn't mean you can throw it on and you're good to go. But your hair is cute!
Huh? Miranda? Is this you? Poop it is...
This is the modern day version of the Pretty In Pink dress if it was directed by someone else. Not good.
KK see every comment above! Your daughters should all get time outs for this! (and for their sex tapes)
The winner of the night for her "Grace", style, confidence and vision....
Grace...we love you! Thank you for years of the most inspiring layouts and thank you for always "getting" it. This is how you do it people...
xoxo TWH. Be bold...you are beautiful. Fashion is fun!
