Audrey Hepburn grew up in Europe during World War Two. She lived in the Netherlands during the Nazi invasion and their she suffered along with millions of others. Malnutrition and anemia from lack of food were some of her hardships. These experiences sparked in Audrey a desire to help other people in need.
Audrey spent may years working with UNICEF as a Good Will Ambassador. Traveling to some of the poorest regions of the world including Africa, South America and Asia. In 1992 Audrey Hepburn was awarded with the Presidential Medal of Freedom for her work with UNICEF and children around the world.
Living a life filled with many romances and many losses, Audrey became a mother to two sons. Sean & Luca were born 10 years apart.
Although she only had two biological children, through her charitable work, Audrey was a mother to many children in need all over the world.
Audrey Hepburn passed away at the age of 61 from appendiceal cancer a very rare form of the disease. The goodness of this woman heart matched her outer beauty, and that will continue to inspire people... Women & Mothers for years and years to come.
